Principal Tailings Engineer
Edward is PanAust’s Principal Tailings Engineer and Engineer of Record, a position he has held since he joined the Company in October 2014.
In his current role, Edward is responsible for the stewardship of the Company’s tailings storage facilities, leading tailings projects study activities, providing technical leadership and reviewing technical outcomes by external consultants. Edward also develops medium and long term development strategies for the Company’s tailings facilities to mine closure, visits project locations, helps to identify opportunities for improvement, and leads risk assessments, rectification and mitigation strategies for the facilities.
Edward has over 21 years’ experience in the engineering and consulting sector specialising in tailings, dams and geotechnical engineering, including nine years’ experience with mining organisations in corporate and operational capacities.
His management and project experience spans commodities such as copper, gold, bauxite, alumina, silver, lead, tungsten, fluorspar and bismuth in counties including, Malaysia, Australia, Vietnam, Laos, Singapore, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Guinea, Sudan and New Zealand.
